I am writing to you in regard to the potential hiring of (Teacher). It is stated in the Family Handbook in section WSTB PHILOSOPHY OF ADULT CONDUCT AND COMMUNICATION the following:
“At WSTB, our vision for our community is that we will find that each “single soul reflects the total community, and the community itself is reflected in the single soul,” as Rudolf Steiner says. As adults in this community, we are obliged to provide models worthy of imitation for the child.” And;
“An important starting point is recognizing that the first priority is serving the best interests of the students. All respectful adult interactions, large and small, lead to building a healthy environment for student learning.”
Also, from our Family Handbook in section GUIDING VALUES states:
“We educate the child through the eternal verities of Goodness, Beauty and Truth.”
It should be clear to any rational parent that takes adequate time to review certain works that (Teacher) has written, produced, co-produced, directed, authorized, promoted and/or published in her name as her life’s work is not in alignment with the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, the Core Values of WSTB or the majority of Parents at WSTB. These referenced works are relevant as they are from during her time as a teacher.
(Teacher's) work doesn’t provide a model worthy of imitation for any child, nor does it reflect Goodness, Beauty or Truth.
It would be unreasonable to think that these concerns are not real or that they would not impact our children and school. It also appears that the long-term goals of the Board have chosen “Credentials” over Character, Morals and Professionalism when hiring teachers. If any Staff, Administration or Board members have not fully reviewed ALL of the material at hand, it is imperative that you take the time to do so immediately. It is my understanding that some of the materials have been intentionally removed from the internet because of many parents’ concerns, but everything has been archived and documented and is available to you upon request for your review.
All references to (Teacher) or to materials in this letter/email have nothing to do with discrimination of Race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability, age or citizenship status.
Questions – Please provide answers to the following questions:
Primarily We are very concerned for the health, safety and welfare of our students if (Teacher) would be on Staff or Faculty at the WSTB and secondarily We are concerned about the potential Liability to WSTB and the Liability to the people responsible for hiring (Teacher) if something was to happen after everything has been disclosed to everyone.
We realize that mistakes have been made due to lack of information or incorrect information being reviewed during the vetting process. However, mistakes should be corrected now by terminating any agreements with (Teacher) and hiring teacher(s) that have the Values and Character that are required and expected for our Children and the WSTB.
